The Clearaudio Performance SE is easily one of best turntable/tonearm packages in its class. It is an example of the high standards that both Clearaudio and Musical Surroundings have set for the analog marketplace. The combination of the solid-body composite plinth and ceramic-magnetic platter bearing (CMB) is a proven winner. Superb speed accuracy and additional isolation provided by the magnetically levitated platter bearing brings you substantially closer to the musical performance.
Celebrating their 30th anniversary in precision analog design and manufacturing, Clearaudio is an industry leader. The Performance SE package is machined to exacting tolerances in their German factory, then hand assembled and calibrated by trained technicians. Innovations of the Performance SE include the CMB platter bearing and a composite plinth made with synthetic granite. The motor is completely isolated, sitting apart from the plinth. Combined with the CMB, this allows your cartridge to play only what's on the record.
The Satisfy Carbon tonearm (included) features a carbon-fiber armtube, magnetic anti-skating mechanism, 3-point ruby bearing, adjustable VTA and azimuth, and integral high quality interconnects. This tonearm offers optimal compatibility with the entire range of Clearaudio cartridges as well as with many other cartridges on the market. It makes the Performance package a very exciting product that can do justice to some of the top moving-coil cartridges out there.
Tech.co.uk Review of the Clearaudio Performance The deck, when set-up properly, has one of the least obvious sonic signatures you can get from a turntable. The plinth's influence on the sound seems minimal and all that's left is you and the vinyl.
