The MMF7.1 is now shipping with Music Hall's Mojo cartridge. It's pictured here with an older Goldring model. The Mojo is a moving-magnet cartridge built by Ortofon with an FG 70 line-contact stylus. Specs are listed below.
The Music Hall MMF-7.1 is a true audiophile-grade turntable that employs numerous features that are hard to find at this or any price point. This belt-driven design is built to make your vinyl records sound as good as they can.
Two-Plinth Design The MMF-7.1 utilizes two plinths to block out any unwanted vibration from getting to the playing surface. These two plinths are separated with sorbothane pucks to ensure stability and keep the platter free of vibration. Adjustable spike feet support the plinths, making the turntable easy to level while dispersing unwanted noise. A circular cut-out in the plinth houses the motor and pulley, which are fully decoupled from the turntable, further isolating the vibration of the motor from any of the critical sound-reproducing parts
Carbon Fiber Tonearm The wonderful Pro-Ject 9C carbon fiber tonearm is utilized on the Music Hall MMF-7.1. Carbon fiber is a light-weight, rigid material, that offers superior resonance control. Subtle features, such as lining up the counterweight's center of gravity to that of the stylus tip, enhance the stability of the stylus while it tracks the groove. The 9C tonearm uses high-purity copper wires terminated with gold-plated RCA jacks, allowing the user to upgrade interconnects if they like.
Platter, Mat, and Clamp The Music Hall MMF-7.1 uses a heavy-duty acrylic platter, which is completely free of resonance. To boot, a soft felt mat is included so to care for the surface of the record. Music Hall's own record clamp is also included, which, when secured tightly on the threaded spindle, locks the record to the platter for ultimate stability, negating any slip and enabling the tonearm to perform and track at it's finest.
Fit And Finish The plinths on the MMF-7.1 are finished with a high-gloss piano black, helping the turntable to look every bit as good as it sounds. Also included is a clear dustcover, which opens and closes on hinges at the rear of the turntable. Spike shoes are provided for the spike feet to nestle into, keeping your surfaces free of scratches.
Hifitest.de Review ...it simply fun to drive with this music, so neutral and incorruptible on the one side, so playful and colorful, he plays on the other side.
Amazon Review ...this turntable will easily outperform even very expensive audiophile CD players in sound quality.
