Winner of The 2012 Absolute Sound Editor's Choice Award!
The V-LPS is a high performance MM/MC Phono Stage. It is technically correct, with a virtually perfect RIAA (±0.3dB 20Hz - 20kHz), extremely low distortion, wide overload margin and very low noise. By every technical measure it is top quality.

We achieve this by putting our kW Series phono stage circuitry into a package, which is extremely economical. It really isn't rocket science, just determination to make incredible value for money!

Stereophile Review
I thought the V-LPS was at least the sonic equal of Clearaudio's Smart Phono at $600, and better in terms of low-impedance loading for moving coils. I think you need to spend $1000 or more to get one substantially better.

fineTONE Review
A truly great-sounding and great-value gear to me and it would remain in my system for a long time to come!

Needle Dr reviews the Musical Fidelity V-LPS
Phono preamps are becoming more and more useful as today's amplifiers and receivers don't include phono inputs for turntables. As with anything, quality can vary, and you have to be sure that what you're getting will match up to your system well. In comes the Musical Fidelity V-LPS, capable of handling just about any cartridge on the market, and costing much less than it's competition. Don't be fooled by it's price tag, the V-LPS delivers sound quality far beyond what should be expected at $150. Typically, phono preamps at this price can be a bit tinny, not delving into the music, especially with the bass. The V-LPS reaches as low as you could possibly imagine to retrieve bass tones with incredible accuracy. With separate inputs for moving magnet and moving coil, it's a preamp worth considering for just about any turntable set up.
