The RM-9.2 is a new step into affordable high performance from Pro-Ject. This table is a mass loaded design with a thick acrylic platter and clamp assembly set on top of an inverted thrust bearing. This gives the table great speed stability as it raises the center of gravity of the rotating platter. To reduce motor noise, the motor is physically separated from the base and new opposing magnetic feet are employed. The tonearm is the new conical 9cc EVO carbon fiber arm tube with integrated headshell and superior bearing assembly resulting in the ability to use more massive and rigid (lower compliant) moving coil cartridges. A brass record clamp is included. High Gloss Grey finish.

Absolute Sound Review
Sonically, the combination is remarkable in ways that hold strong appeal for both the music lover and the audiophile in me. The Sumiko is notably easy and relaxed, yet also rhythmically incisive and dynamically explosive. It is warm and rich, yet also detailed and transparent.

The Pro-Ject RM-9.2 and Sumiko Celebration II are easily one of the most musically engaging and satisfying setups I’ve had the pleasure to evaluate. They’re a great value, too. Mark it, Dude!
Pro-Ject RM9.2 Features:
  • Chassis and motor housing piano-lacquered dark grey
  • A quiet running AC motor with a two-step pulley drives the platter's outside edge via a belt.
  • The medium density fibre plinth rests on three individually height-adjustable magnetic field feet.
  • A supplied spirit level allows easy adjustment. Granulate filled plinth guarantees constant damping.
  • The motor is mounted in a separate metal housing to eliminate vibration transmission.
  • The resonance-optimised platter is a sandwich construction.
  • Acrylic platter weighing 3,5Kg and a brass record puck.
  • The inverted bearing uses a stainless-steel axle carrying a ceramic ball on which the ceramic bearing plate runs.
  • Central metal block optimises centre of gravity and damps main bearing.
  • Gold plated phono sockets and earth screw. A standard cable is provided.
  • External power supply avoids potential electro-mechanical interference.

  • Tonearm 9cc Evolution Details:
  • The headshell and armtube are fashioned from a single piece of carbon-fibre.
  • Conical armtube avoids standing wave reflections.
  • Inverted tonearm bearing comprises four hardened stainless tips in ABEC7 spec ballraces.
  • Rings provide very solid arm bearing housings. The massive outside ring is open to avoid resonances.
  • Sorbothane®-damped counterweight effectively counteracts unwanted resonances.
  • The counterweights supplied are suitable for cartridges weighing between 5 - 7,5g, 7 - 10g, 9 - 11g or 10 - 14g
  • Counterweight shaft lowered to record level reduces cantilever forces and dynamic wow when playing warped records.
  • Solid armbase permits accurate height adjustment of armtube and VTA (vertical tracing angle).
  • Single-screw fixing of armtube allows rotation for easy adjustment of needle azimuth despite fixed headshell.
  • Silicone-damped armlift can be adjusted to suit working height of the arm.
  • The internal wiring consists of flexible high-purity copper from the headshell right through to the gold-plated phono sockets.
