First off, it allows you to switch between speeds with the push of a button, but most importantly, it reduces the speed variance of the record platter. This amounts to much more controlled and natural bass, heightened clarity through the mids, and tighter highs.

The Speed Box SE II works with any turntable that uses an AC synchronous motor.
