Ringmat XLR Record Support
In its newest refinement, the MK II XLR, the rings have been adjusted in height to operate optimally with 2-piece platter systems, such as that on the Linn LP-12. It also works well with most other turntables, and eliminates the need to use record clamps or weights.
Stereophile Recommended Component "RD found this paper/cork mat to both reduce groove noise and increase detail resolution when used on his Lingo'd Linn. ST had some initial difficulties with the cork rings detaching, but he found the Ringmat to turn his AR into a more detailed, more neutral-sounding table. Changes in the cork rings and their spacing result in "greater clarity, focus, slightly tighter bass, and a wider, deeper soundstage," according to ST, who proclaimed it "The only mat that matters." -October 1998 Page 85.
Andrew Marshall, AEG "The Best Way To Hear All Of What's On Your Records... "The QR/DNM Design Ringmat was developed in Britain. Its design goal was to minimize the contact area between record and mat and dissipate vinyl resonances, using thin cork ring spacers to accomplish this. It will fit most turntables, and has the same thickness as most felt mats. " -Summer 1996
