The Palo Santos Presentation moving-coil cartridge has an open-construction body of tuned wood; a boron cantilever, a suspension of synthetic rubber, and a ultra-low-mass Vital PH diamond stylus. Compared to the Benz-Micro LPS, the Palo Santos Presentation sounded "brasher" with a shallower soundstage, leaner mid-bass, and sharper transients. "It's overall sound- smooth, sweet, and nicely detailed makes it a great choose for the music lover with eclectic tastes who wants to bridge the gap between analytical and romantic sound," said MF.
For over thirty-five years, SUMIKO has provided a comprehensive range of phono cartridges to music lovers seeking the finest musical experience at a variety of price points. In fact, the great market success of SUMIKO phono cartridges has hinged on their phenomenal cost-to-performance ratio.
The Palo Santos Presentation is no exception. New design requirements incorporating advances in material technology and construction techniques have resulted in a significantly improved product which delivers a highly refined and resolved, yet musically satisfying sound quality previously unavailable at or even near its price.
Improvements grace virtually every facet of the product to differentiate it from its smaller sibling the Pearwood Celebration II. Most significant is the new generator anchoring system, which has substantially improved rigidity and reduced resonance and background noise to previously unheard of levels. From the new handcrafted Palo Santos (Brazilian Rosewood) body, which is shorter in height to add vision when mounting and aligning this cartridge, to the Long Grain Boron cantilever and new Line Contact stylus, which significantly improves resolution, the Palo Santos Presentation truly deserves the title as our flagship offering.

Needle Dr Reviews the Palo Santos Presentation For years, Sumiko has provided the market with wonderful sounding cartridges. With moving magnet designs, as well as low and high output moving coils, Sumiko has a solution for just about anyone's needs. At the top of their line lies the flagship Palo Santos Presentation. To say that it's a departure for them is an understatement. Sure, the body looks similar to the Celebration II, but that's where the similarities end. The Palo Santos has by far the smoothest sound of any Sumiko cartridge I've heard. The details in the music are present, but never overbearing. Bass is round, and highs are gentle. The midrange blooms like a rose, and vocals are immediate. Until now, Sumiko cartridges have been known for being bright and lively, if a little tipped up. The Palo Santos is the exact opposite, offering one of the more romantic sounds on the market today. This cartridge is truly for music lovers.
