AcousTech Stylus Force Gauge
Take the Guess Work Out of Tracking Force Set-UpThe Deluxe AcousTech gauge is set apart from the standard version by a full metal casing, AAA battery support, and a deluxe storage case. Includes mini screwdriver and calibration weight.
The AcousTech gauge will accurately read your tracking force within 0.002 grams, the finest reading available. Many imitators only read accuracy of 0.01 grams.
Accurate and simple to use – that's the essence of a great stylus force gauge, and that's what you get with this AcousTech model. We all know, or certainly we all should know, that dialing in your correct tracking force is absolutely essential for optimal record playback. If you miss on the heavy side, your sound becomes thick and sluggish. Miss on the light side, and your cartridge is more likely to mistrack and the sound will be light and anemic.
So stop messing with those mechanical stylus balances that aren't even accurate. This is one case where digital makes more sense when it comes to fine-tuning your analog.

Works fine all you have to do is think past zero line your stylus up on the center dot a winner
Gives weight to 1/100 g, so this implies accuracy to 1 sig digit, but I found my model to vary by more than this on repeat measurements with otherwise stable conditions and good care for the item. Pretty unacceptable in a product this expensive. I'd say go with the analog scales - they won't tell you if you're at 1.83 grams but they will tell you you're at 1.8 g reliably and this product doesn't always do even that!
Simple to use and effective. Used it to dial in a Dynavector 10X5 I purchased also. Thanks, Patrick!
This gauge helped me dial in my setup. I think the $ I save on new styluses by extending the life of mine with proper setup will more than pay for this tool.
excellent for the money,,not like some other guages whose prices loom close to the "RIP OFF"category
