Audioquest Golden Gate Interconnect
To respect different budgets and honor the wide breadth of applications, AudioQuest offers seven models of these new multi-application low-distortion analog interconnects. All include AudioQuest’s proven design expertise featuring: better metals, superior geometry, and our exclusive Noise-Dissipation System. For the upper four models, we employ Air-Tube Insulation, while the top three models use AudioQuest's amazingly effective Dielectric-Bias System (DBS).
Great sound and great pictures, music that consumes you, movies that transport you around the universe ... all come from honoring the original signal. An unavoidable fact-of-life: Every component and cable in a system causes some amount of distortion. These aberrations add up, like layers of foggy glass between you and the image. The goal of high quality components and cables is to be like clean clear panes of glass, altering and distorting the information as little as possible. Some of the most fundamental distortion mechanisms are honored and addressed by AudioQuest’s 4-Elements. Any improvement in these areas of design and materials results in less damage and a more effective, immersive experience.
Solid ConductorsElectrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the greatest sources of distortion in normal cables. Separate solid conductors prevent interaction between strands.
InsulationIn addition to insulating, all conductor coatings are also a “dielectric.” Signal flow is slowed down and distorted by a dielectric, making the choice of mate- rial, and AQ’s Dielectric-Bias System, very important.
GeometryThe relationship between conductors, whether of the same polarity (+ & +) or opposite polarity (+ & -) af- fects many electrical and mechanical parameters, in- cluding capacitance, inductance, RF Interference, etc.
Metal QualityConductor material quality has a pronounced effect on the signal passing through. Different materials have more or less impurities, grain boundaries, surface irregularities, etc.

These are great connectors. BUT beware that they must be used with connects that are close together - the input connects (L/R0 on my Carey 280 are about 6" apart so much for this cable - I'll use it some where else.
Much more defined Bass and drastically better channel separation than stock cable. Almost like having a new system.

I'm using these cables to connect my Marantz CD5004 with the PM5004 and i could notice a great improvement over the cables that came with the system. Much deeper sound and clearer high notes. Great finish also. I RECOMEND!
Frustrating, good but frustrating.

I'm giving these two stars they probably don't deserve but, since I had the same issue with two sets they get two stars instead of one. How's that for fair. Anyhow soundwise these have an incredibly detailed lively midrange, upper midrange and high end. With only 24hrs burn in the bass never fully developed and fleshed out but probably will with more burn in time. What it did have in bass was an honest tuneful quality. It was there in quality but not in weight or palpability.
My issue is 2 for 2 the left channel quit working with these otherwise very fairly priced cables. As soon as I switched back to either of my former interconnects for my VPI Prime TT both channels worked fine again.
