Audioquest RCA-300 Fits Cables Up To 7mm Requires Soldering 2 Pair
Ratings & Reviews
These are difficult to solder, because it's really easy to melt the internal insulation with the heat from the iron. I was successful 1 out of 4 times. Once the internal insulation melts it's not possible to fix the RCA plug easily and reuse it. Perhaps with some factory set up soldering would be possible, but that's not how it works at home. Once one heats the central pin the heat is transmitted to the plastic insulation. Maybe with a thicker wire than the one I had, it would be possible to get a clean bead of solder on the bare wires ahead of time and then that's much easier to solder to the central pin.
