$1,600.00 to $3,100.00
SKU: CA-CONCEPT
The Concept turntable sets a new standard in turntable manufacturing. Precision German engineering combined with the latest technology and timeless design signal a new era in analog playback. The Concept is equipped with the innovative Concept tonearm, which features a friction-free magnetic bearing technology. A high-quality Clearaudio moving magnet (Concept MM) or moving coil (Concept MC) cartridge can be pre-mounted and factory-adjusted to complete this setup.

A Genuine, Timeless & Modern Design

The Concept is belt-driven by a low-noise, decoupled DC motor built into the resonant-optimized plinth, “… resulting in an attractive, small-footprint design that doesn’t require the buyer to find a place for an outboard motor—or even a motor placed in a hole in the plinth!” (Michael Fremer, Stereophile, June 2011). The platter is made of 30mm-thick polyoxymethylene (POM), an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. The Concept plays at three speeds – 33rpm, 45rpm, and 78rpm – selectable by Electronic Speed Control knob.

    Very Happy

    by

Very happy with this table. Although can't say I'm an expert in TT and vinyl, what I can say is it's easy to set up and operate. The sound is wonderful and relatively quiet. Plus, not sure if it's the table or the vinyl, listening for hours is non-fatiguing and yet very satisfying. It's like when you had dinner and you are well content but doesn't feel heavy. Don't know if I'm making sense :).

    Smooth

    by

I will start by saying how nice Tom Tom drums sound with this table. Just a very smooth treble and midrange with an extended bass. This table replaced my old Music Hall 5 with a 2m bronze. Mounted with the MC concept cartridge my concept table sounds so smooth, I can't get over how real the drums sound compared to my old table. While the 2m bronze would extract every tiny detail, the concept has a very musical quality to it that let's me kick back and enjoy the music.

    Get it!

Followed the above reviews with 2M Black cartridge. WOW! Bang for the buck, it is unbeatable. Clean, simple design. Easy to operate. The sound is unbelievable. I agree, GET IT!

    Incredible!

    by

Like Joe A. I also mounted a 2M Black to my Concept. This turntable is awesome! I upgraded from a Pro-ject Debut III, and this table is a million times better! The sound is incredible! By far the best sub $2,000 table I've heard. If you're thinking about the Concept don't wait, GET IT!

    Excellent value

    by

Let me preface the review by stating that to a large degree it’s difficult to separate the “sound” of the turntable from that of the cartridge being used. In this case, I partnered the Concept with an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge which was ably mounted for me (thankfully) by my salesman at Needledoctor. I am quite pleased with the turntable: it’s dead silent in operation, has a clear, agile sound that seems to pick the details right out of the mix without sounding thin or bright. One point to keep in mind when setting up the ‘table (and this may be due to the magnetic bearing arm) is that it is most definitely sensitive to footfalls. This is by no means peculiar to the Concept, but something to be aware of. Bottom line: an excellent value, very good sounding turntable.
