Compact Harbeth

Pictured finishes (left to right): Cherry, Rosewood, Ebony & Eucalyptus.

The legendary multi-award winning medium-sized Harbeth HL Compact 7ES-3 takes the ultra-clean Harbeth cone technology to another performance level, combining natural sound with a flair for reproducing any and every type of music. The Harbeth secret for natural sound is the result of the meticulous attention to detail. Critically important, but hidden, is the crossover, which carefully integrates the drive units across a wider horizontal and vertical arc. Consequently, the Compact 7ES-3 is far less critical of stand height than many speakers of this size.

Way better than they have any right to be!

Having been an audio buff for over 45 years, I've owned a lot of equipment; some of it pretty pricey. After trying a small pair of Harbeths on my desktop, I began to see what people were raving about. I sold my large floorstanders (ACI Jaguar LFM's) and bought a pair of Harbeth Compact 7ES-3 and a pair of stands. The imaging, depth and width of soundstage in my large room amazed me. What impacted me even more was the beautiful tonality of these speakers. I do use a subwoofer for big orchestral pieces with deep bass, but for much of my listening, I wouldn't need one. I know it's way over-done, but I'm hearing new things in recordings I've heard hundreds of times. The only thing I would trade for now would be bigger Harbeths, although I'm not sure that would even be a big improvement. Highly recommended!
