Marantz PM5005 Integrated Amplifier
Featuring current feedback power amplifier circuitry (a Marantz innovation), the power amplifier section also features pure discrete analog circuitry along with multiple high current discrete power output devices that are easily able to handle lower impedance loads and deliver high instantaneous peak current capability.
Rated at 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 55 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the PM5005 features A and B speaker outputs, for two sets of stereo speakers, or for bi-wiring with compatible stereo speakers. The deluxe remote control provides discrete source input buttons, and includes additional buttons for direct control of the matching Marantz CD5005 player and Marantz Network Audio Players.
Current Feedback Discrete Power AmplifierThe PM5005 features a power amplifier section based on our renowned current feedback technology, a Marantz innovation that debuted on our very first power amplifier. High current discrete power output devices mounted on a generously-sized aluminum heat sink together provide high instantaneous peak current capability, and are easily able to handle dynamic bursts into lower impedance 4 ohm speaker loads (the current capacity for each amplifier channel is a substantial 16 amps).
Wide Range of Connectivity OptionsVeteran audiophiles and new generation music lovers both know that the sonic allure of vinyl records often can't be matched by digital audio sources, and the PM5005 includes multiple analog inputs including a MM (moving magnet) phono input. There are also dual recording inputs and outputs, along with a headphone amplifier jack on the front panel, and the high grade speaker connectors can accept multiple speaker cable termination types. The audio input and output jacks are all gold plated for maximum signal integrity.
Source Direct FunctionTo ensure the shortest signal path and the highest fidelity, the PM5005 features our Source Direct function, which bypasses the tone control and loudness control circuitry.
Fully Discrete Volume Amplifier CircuitThe volume amplifier circuit features fully discrete circuitry (no op amp chips in the signal path) for the widest bandwidth, lowest distortion, and highest dynamic range.
Elegant Remote ControlThe elegant remote control includes additional function buttons that let you control a Marantz CD player and a Marantz Network Audio Player, for total system control with a single remote.
Versatile Remote Control OptionsThe PM5005 features remote control input and output jacks that let you hard wire the amplifier directly to a Marantz CD player, which in turn can be hard wired to a Marantz Network Audio Player. For example, you can place a Marantz CD player on an open shelf for easy access, and place the PM5005 and a Marantz Network Audio Player tucked away in a cabinet and hidden from view, and control all 3 units with a single remote, which helps to eliminate component clutter.
60+ Years of Audiophile HeritageFounded in 1953, Marantz has a long and rich history of designing audiophile components that have been embraced by music lovers and critical listeners around the world. Because Music Matters so much in our lives, the PM5005 carries on our long tradition of delivering a superlative music listening experience.

I bought the matching CD player when my 5 disc changer died and had to have the amp to match. I wish all new amps had bass and treble controls, I just it had a tuner.
Best budget integrated amp
I've owned this for almost 3 years, and I use it a lot. I play both records (Denon w/Grado) and CD (Tascam dual 24 bit A/D). Don't let the 40 w/ch power rating scare you off. It can drive my B&W DM601S3 speakers to good volume with no distortion. 8 ohms nominal, dropping down as low as 3 ohms. Require 25-100 watts each. And the sound is great, with good staging and depth. You get more than you pay for with this amp. Only (minor) drawback: no Bluetooth. Wish they would add this to this fabulous inexpensive amp.
