Pfanstiehl Record Cleaning Solution
Ratings & Reviews
My bottle of this product has no lead warning. All it says is "completely safe for use and handling." For what it's worth, it's an excellent product and very inexpensive. I think my bottle of this product will probably last me a few decades.
I think this stuff works great. My bottle doesn't say anything at all about lead. It says "completely safe for records and completely safe for the person using (it)." Has the formula changed?
Products does a very good job cleaning the record surface and reducing static. Better than the Discwasher D4 and Audio-Technica AT-120 fluids I have used in the past. My one concern is about the warning on the label, stating that the product contains lead, which is harmful to humans and a known carcinogen. The warning recommends washing your hands after using the product. Are my records and cleaning brushes now contaminanted with lead ? Is Needle Doctor even aware the product they're selling has this warning ?
used D4 for many years...Phan-stat actually better...much less static in dry environment...cleans vinyl very well and have used on stubborn smudges with great results
For the record ;-)
The label mentioning lead is on the packaging and not the bottle:
Not a huge deal for me... I needed a replacement for my discwasher fluid which was probably just as harmful.
Best anti static for vinyl lps
I use this on new records as well as newly cleaned lps. It is the best against static. I've had new records that wouldn't slide out the sleeve, they had so much static. A couple of squirts and wipe with microfiber cloth and no static, seems to last too. The price here is a couple bucks better than other sites.
