Xperience the Evolution

The 2Xperience SB is based on the 2Xperience belt-drive concept which incorporates over 20 years of turntable design experience. The addition of a precision motor controller with electronic speed change, derived from the highly regarded Speed Box yields precise speed accuracy and push button convenience. The superb 9cc Evolution carbon fiber tonearm provides superb performance especially with the factory mounted Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 cartridge, while serving as a solid foundation for future upgrades. The heavy chassis is made from MDF using a non-resonant construction technique. The mat is created from a recycled vinyl record bonded to the platter and precision machined to create an ideal turntable/record interface. A custom light-weight record clamp reduces unwanted record vibration and ensures a tight coupling of the record to the platter. The audio performance of the final product benefits from the resonance-free platter, avoiding the ringing effect of common metal and glass platters. Available in a variety of beautiful finishes, the 2Xperience SB looks as good as it sounds and with the highly regarded Blue Point No. 2 included, represents a superb value.

Great Table. It's well built with a great arm, and the record clamp and conical feet make for solid resonance-free playback. The Blue Point #2 cartridge tracks well and produces a wide and deep soundstage, providing full bass and smooth highs. Note - don't trust the VTF indicator dial on this table. I checked with a Shure SFG-2 gauge and found that the indicator on the tonearm was reading slightly high, meaning I was tracking low. I'm running at an actual 2 grams and that seems to be the sweet spot. Running at a lower VTF was causing mistracking for me. A reliable gauge is a necessity. Also, Sumiko recommends running the anti-skating lower than the normally recommended force, and I've found that the first notch on the anti-skate stud works better for me than the recommended middle notch. I'm very pleased with this table and cartridge.

Brian at ND went above and beyond to make sure I got the finish and package I wanted. I went from a VPI scout to this Pro-Ject and have absolutely no regrets. Sounds amazing right out of the box. Set up is a breeze. Mine is fitted with a Sumiko Blue Point Evo III and I can't stop playing records. Thanks again to Brian for making this happen!
