Another Hotrod from Pro-Ject Makes its Way Stateside

Pro-Ject's Debut III Recordmaster brings together classic audiophile aesthetics with contemporary features for the modern vinyl lover. Featuring a built-in phono preamp, pre-mounted Ortofon OM10 cartridge and USB connectivity, the Debut III Recordmaster is ready to be hooked up to your stereo or computer right out of the box. The built-in preamp allows for line level output (useful for amplifiers lacking a dedicated phono input) and USB allows for direct recording to PC or MAC. You can even listen off your hi-fi system and record to your computer simultaneously! In addition, the Debut III Recordmaster features a convenient electronic speed change feature ("Speedbox") that allows you to switch from 33 or 45rpm at the push of a button (no need for switching belts). 78rpm play is also possible, but manual belt and stylus (78rpm stylus not included) change is necessary. All this plus larger platter, low noise motor, and aluminum tone arm for an improved listening experience.

For Your Convenience

It is worth noting that the Debut III RecordMaster USB shares many similarities (i.e. automatic speed change) to the popular Debut Carbon DC Esprit SB turntable, however there are several noticeable (and not-so-noticeable) differences. First, the RecordMaster has the built-in phono preamp and USB connectivity that is lacking on the Esprit. This is key for those that would like to digitize their vinyl or simply do not have a phono-ready amplifier. Next are the differences in key components of each turntable - the RecordMaster features a steel platter with aluminum tonearm, while the Esprit comes with an acrylic platter and carbon fiber tonearm. Lastly, the pre-mounted cartridges differ as the RecordMaster comes with an Ortofon OM10, and the Esprit a 2M Red.
