I've 'reviewed' numerous cartridges here, across a number or turntable and arm combinations. The Exact is in my RP 10, and this is just a note to say my findings are consistent with the other reviews here. The 'vital' stylus profile makes a huge difference in combination with the RP10, and while the overall presentation veers toward too analytical and emotionally unengaging, it never actually crosses the threshold. The depth of detail retrieval , coupled with the RP10 capacity for tymbral resolution works really well. This cart is a temporary measure while I prepare for the acquisition of the rega Apheta 2. Pleasantly surprised, and bought principally on the basis of the reviews I've read. Never heard one before
Keep in mind these do wear out. One came fitted to my brand new Rega RP6 turntable two years ago, loved it. Recently, especially vs digital, I felt like the highs were rolled off. All the internets said cartridges last a long time, but regardless got a brand new Exact cart and damn! Highs are back, signal sounds stronger and more powerful overall. After two years of maybe 30-60 min/day use.
I have progressively stepped up from the Bias2 to the Elys 2 and now to the Exact 2. With the Exact 2 I am finally satisfied with the performance and sound of my Rega P3-24. Much more detail and clarity and highly improved tracking due to the vital fine line stylus. I can now simply enjoy listening to my LP collection.
I would normally not be able to afford such a high end cartridge, but I got lucky buying a mint Rega P3-24, with this cartridge and many upgrades for barely more than the price of the cartridge. This cart sounds amazing - very detailed, yet still very musical, and not overly analytical. And pretty forgiving of not so great condition vinyl.

This cartridge takes a while to loosen up. When it does, it reveals itself as quite a bargain. Forced me to upgrade my phono preamp.

Tried Dynavector, Ortofon, and Grado MMs before but this cart trounces them in dynamics, midrange purity and tonal accuracy. Never looked back!

Involving, fantastic cartridge for any REGA turntable. Great dynamics with grain-free mids. A must listen!

The top of the line in Rega's modest offerings, this cartridge presents the least amount of "vinyl" artifacts among all the MM and MC's I've owned over the past thirty years. Emphasis is on the music, tonal balance, and a realistic sense of presence at the performance. From a reasonable distance, no one listens to woodwind key clacks or the buzz of a dragged finger nail on steel strings. Although lacking the sizzly top end "air" of all moving coils -- a function of the physical construction and suspension system of those cartridges -- the cartridge presents a more realistic listening experience than excessively detailed, exotic MC's whether low or high output. One major limitation: the cartidge is susceptible to AC field hum due to its minimal shielding. Substitution of other Exact 2 cartridges plus upgrading to a Rega 5 arm did nothing to reduce this irritating aspect of an otherwise superb product. Elimination of 60 cycle hum susceptibility makes this a less-than-ideal catridge for translating vinyl collections to any lossless high resolution digital medium.
